RSE v23 FULL RELEASE

Hey guys, this might be my last version for MW2 (at least for the time being). The good news is that a guy by the name of "Die_Rache" (http://bgamer.ohost.de) is working on a LAN client for MW3 (IW5). If his client has mod support I should be able to port RSE to MW3! Anyway the main reason I'll be discontinuing development on RSE for MW2 is because recently Die_Rache released a LAN client for Black Ops. This was something I was hoping for since the game came out over 3 years ago. I focused my attention on making bots for MW2 as a substitute. I prefer Black Ops over any of the other titles so I will be doing most of my bot slaughtering on there. A port of RSE to MW3 was highly requested so I will do so if I am able to. Only time will tell if the upcoming MW3 LAN client will support mods. Thanks for your support and have fun with v23!

    1. i hope to port it too! i think it would be really cool to have bots running around trying to get specialist bonus :P

for a user friendly way to change amount of bots, edit the config.gsc file. i include instructions in the Developer Tools folder on everything you need to do.

the thread "getBalancedScale()" in includes.gsc will be the default thread that the mod looks at for amount of bots. i don't recommend changing anything unless you know what you are doing. always make a back up of files in case you mess up.

    4. the limit is 18 players in MW2. this is a engine limitation that cannot be changed. i included instructions in the package on everything you need to do to modify RSE.

  2. Man,you just keep on making my life better and better :D I was never a fan of online COD playing, and was a great fan and supporter of bots for COD since MW and WAW,Pezbot mod to be specific...now,after you've brought us your beautiful mod for MW2,you actually saying that there could (and would) be a bot mod of same quality for both MW3 and BO...I am just breathless....THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH! Keep up the good work! :D

  3. Black Ops already have a bots and needs only LAN emulator. MW2 and MW3(maybe) are very hard to mod. Maybe get interest in Far Cry 2 bots because of very large maps(for long rage sniping), map editor, easy acces to configuration files and many other things. Im trying to do it myself including making a SP campaign for (at least) 2 players (something like Just Couse 2 have). CoD4 is still the best in all CoD duty series and its got a leetmod(with PeZbot) but bots are very bad. Is it possible to put RSE v23 to CoD4 ? Please say >yes< ..... :-D

    1. i do have lan emulator but the problem is you can not rank up or even edit the custom weapons..

    2. Thats not LAN emulator, its a bot loader and I can bet in 100€ its a TeknoGods :-D

  4. Yeah, sure,Black Ops had a great bot mod and all,but in my own opinion the best thing about mods like this (or Pezbot) is that you can actually RANK UP against bots, which gives a huge feeling to progressing as you go...now BO loader is a great thing, and with that class creation mod it's awesome and all,but I personally would like to play mod which gets you step-by-step into unlocking everything game has to offer...so...we'll see...

    1. i'll make a post soon with a link to the offline Black Ops client i was mentioning. it allows you to rank up offline with combat training. it works perfectly (with the hex changes i made to it anyway).

i hated BO Loader, it was so glitchy and annoying to use.

      Delete
    2. So what are the ideas regarding bo?

As it already has combat training/bots, ffa/tdm work, dlc maps work...
and can be played offline, now with the bgT5 alpha client.

My vote is to focus on mw3 :).

      Delete
    3. no ideas for BO, just happy to be able to play it offline now :)
well i see 3arc released modding tools so i'm probably going to try to get bots to play all of the modes, we'll see...

i agree though, i will work on mw3 once i get my hands on an offline client that supports mods!

      Delete
    4. when can you post a link for BO that we can also play 100% no internet connection.. the offline Black Ops client that you mentioned.. i believed we can also rank up and etc. just like RSE

      Delete
    5. i already put the link to the creator's website in this post. yes you can do all of the combat training stat tracking. i also put a video on my youtube channel showing the client in action.

  6. So RSE23 will be the official pending final version? looks perfect already to me though but I'll miss the weekly updates hehe. But if the weekly updates contains the mw3 bot or a better bot for BO that would be totally cool as well. The problem with BO bots is they can only do FFA and TDM. The Black Frontline mod for BO almost made the bots do the other gamemodes but when I tested it using nemexisops client I think they still can't unlike BO2 bots. BO2 is working btw using the plusmaster client but still limited but very playable. Hope bgamer can make a BO2 offline launcher to, really soon. Anyway cheers to all bot users. Forever fps gaming in peace hehe!

Gazillion tnx Macporterjoe!!! Trillion awesome goodie karmas for yah hehe!!!

    1. thanks yea i tried running the Black Frontlines mod with the BGamer client but it crashed...
i like the BO2 bots a lot but with no way to rank up with BO2 bots, i don't think i will prefer it over mw2/BO1.

and thanks for all of your great feedback and support! it wouldn't have been nearly as good without you!

      Viva la bots!!!

    2. No problem Mac!

Btw are you interested on doing some further improvements on Pezbot itself or make a better cod4 bot as some sort of side project in the future? this bot don't camp or go prone and some other bugs it needs to ironed out...hehe just a suggestion maybe this will be a much more of a breeze since this has all the stuff for modders like you.

      Delete
    3. it would probably be easier to just port RSE to CoD4 than try to clean up that messy PeZBOT code... would be cool to see 64 RSE bots on shipment :P

  7. Guys, Im shure that most of people knows about bots team setings but I will refresh memory to others: If you want to add all bots just to one team, type setdvar("svr_bots_team", "allies"); or setdvar("svr_bots_team", "axies"); to both files >includes.gsc< and >config.gsc<.

    1. thanks for this but when i tried it, it didn't work for me. both bgIW5sp.exe and bgIW5mp.exe gave errors saying that i was missing "MSVCP100D.dll" from my computer.

turns out i might be missing Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x86). i'll install it and see if it works.

from the looks of it though, i don't see any way to load mods into the game. maybe it can be done with the dedicated server?

      Delete
    2. Sidestep loading, by just putting zzz_rse.iwd into the mw3/main/ folder.
Or client folder like bgData, that's how i use bots with bgamer, for example.

Use the iw5client or TeknoMW3 for testing until the offline client works.

Regarding bots, will you be able to reuse anything, like waypoints, from the included "survival mode" bots? They are pretty good.

"Survival Mode appears in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 as a gametype within Special Ops mode. In Survival Mode, players must fend off waves of A.I controlled enemies on various multiplayer maps. The waves are semi-random with certain waves predetermined, while others contain increasingly large and powerful contingents of forces such that in the later stages of the game, players can expect to face multiple Juggernauts, Dogs and enemy air support"

    3. BTW someone should find a way to make solo private match playable......
playind on Dedi is a PITA...........

      Delete
    4. are you sure you can just place the .iwd files in the main folder? because i believe the whole reason why dedicated server plugins exist is because you can't load any mods into MW3 otherwise...

btw, i tried the bgIW5 again with the MSVCP100D.dll file in the directory and now i get an application launch error... i used the latest steam version of MW3...

  10. I hope this offline client for Black Ops and Modern Warfare 3 will work with the Steam version. I prefer to use the legitimate version (or at least as close to legitimate as possible). I don't agree with pirating games for the sole purpose for getting them for free. If I must, for the purposes of modding, then I will at least buy the game first to compensate for it (most commonly done with console games I'm emulating on my computer). For RSE for Modern Warfare 2, I had bought the PC version a long time ago (for some bot mod. May have been this one, can't recall), but was hesitant to install that mod, because I was a computer novice back then (around 2011-2012). Now, when someone mentioned something about RSE, I looked it up, and discovered that it was easy to install on the Steam version (and seemed to recommend that version), at the price of disconnecting it from Steam. So, I reinstalled MW2, patched it to the latest version through Steam, and bought both DLC's. Sure, this mod comes with them, but, it was more out of principle than anything. After all of that, I installed this mod and have been using it ever since.

    1. The legit version of mw2 totally sucks bigtime in some important aspects!
No dedicated servers, mod support, bots etc etc.
People like Nta and Mac made the game way better now by adding those.
Cod4 is still the best but cod4 original devs went away once mw2 was made, figures.

  11. Mw2 was a big fu to pc gamers, in general pc ports are now just an afterthought.

But you can't blame them, mw2 didn't even sell a million copies on the pc.
While they sold 10 million ps3 and 13 million xbox 360 copies!!!

    It's similar with the later games, bo2 pc sold only 1mil, ps3 11 and xbox 360 12.

Those are official world wide sales numbers from vgchartz.
That's 10:1 console:pc sales, we can be lucky even for what was released.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. mw2 was an absolute slap to the face. i bet CoD4 had a better pc to console sales ratio than any of the newer titles. smart people don't buy CoD at release day anymore on PC. the developers reasoning for removing mods, LAN, and dedicated servers was idiotic (as any reasoning is when related to DRM). sure maybe if it actually stopped piracy but its been well proven that it doesn't. in the long run it just deters people from buying their game and it ends up getting cracked at some point anyway...

at least mw2 was well optimized, Black Ops still runs like a turd even after dozens of patches. its the same engine for crying out loud! how could the previous title run so well and the next one run so bad? atvi pushed the game out the door when it wasn't ready, then allocated piss poor resources to fixing their broken game. that publisher ruins every IP they can get their greedy little butter fingers on...

ohh i get it now... they make a game so bad that no one would want to pirate it! genius! anyway thats enough of my rant. atvi might come and take down this site now... oh well :P

      Delete
    2. The thing is, from what I read, DRM isn't suppose to stop piracy. It is only meant to slow it down just enough to get decent sales numbers in before the game is cracked.

      Source: http://www.tweakguides.com/Piracy_1.html

Read it. It was an eye-opener for me.

Does that make DRM necessarily a good thing for the end-user? No, not all of the time. But, with piracy on the rise, publishers/developers don't want to lose to much money on the investment. If piracy wasn't so rampant, then extreme anti-piracy policies wouldn't be needed (though some may take such steps anyways, even if piracy wasn't an issue. It just wouldn't be as widespread as it is). I will agree that Activision is being a bit greedy with taking away all of that other stuff, with all the money they make from console sales.

      Delete
    3. I'm not saying never, ever get a cracked copy of the game. Just buy it at least before downloading it from other sources. That way, at least developers have some incentive to continue developing on the PC, and have some reason to ease up on anti-piracy protection..

      Delete
    4. Reading the article, this has seldom proven to be the case. Witcher 2, Call of Duty 4, and the original Crysis, all of which were released with little or no DRM (at least not intrusive DRM), actually were pirated MORE than those games who had stricter DRM in place (this was all, except the Witcher 2 example, on the fourth page of the article). The only time which this has actually proven true was with Spore, which had the highest piracy rate of the year of its release, because of the whole DRM hysteria thing (I wasn't a PC gamer back then). But, that was an isolated case so far.

Does that make your statement completely invalid? No. I am sure there are those would buy the game if the DRM was less strict. But, there are also the "Free Riders" who pirate the game just so they can get it for free. That kind of pirate is the issue that the PC gaming market faces. Its an issue that been around since home computers have been in existence (well, software, at least). The final page of the article actually comes up with some fairly practical solutions to reducing piracy (or at least reducing the number of excuses some Free Riders come up with so they can justify torrenting the game without buying it), though not stopping it (we all know that is impossible). If nothing else, at least read the last page of the article for a list of. The writer is in no way a fan of DRM, if you thought that what you thought the article would be like. Just a thorough examination of piracy and the economics & consequences of it (the final page sums all of the other pages in a nutshell, and more).

      http://www.tweakguides.com/Piracy_10.html

I also have one solution to reducing piracy of my own. Developers need to find a fine balance between DRM and customer satisfaction. To much DRM, and we get another Spore. To much appealing to consumer demands, and we get another Witcher 2.

    5. Perhaps "completely invalid" wasn't the best choice of words on my part. I'm bot trying to be offensive. Its just been a long day

    6. its alright i understand what you are saying. interesting article overall.

witcher 2 had DRM on steam at release day just as most PC games do since 2007. (it was later removed with GOG release). yes it was pirated a lot but it sold well overall and it doesn't seem to deter CD Projekt RED from continuing their DRM-free approach with the witcher 3. i hope it works out for them and i think it will.

just look at how successful minecraft was. it was very easy to pirate, had no DRM, and still sold millions...

at the end of the day, yes people should not be able to play games that they did not buy (obviously), but the paying costumers should not be punished or limited because the companies cannot properly secure the distribution of their content.

DRM is being more intrusive for other reasons. companies want more control over their costumers (for more money). for instance, if a game can be connected to the internet at all times, advertisements can be sent to you while you play. this crap is going to get more aggressive in the next generation of games. these big corporations don't want you to "own" games, just to let you play them until you do something wrong or until they decide they don't want you to play them anymore. Steam can terminate your account and you can lose all of the games you payed for. since one of their recent contractual agreements with the user, you aren't buying games, you are "subscribing" to games.

    7. Thank you for understanding. I also have Asperger's Syndrome (a minor form of autism), which can make it hard to communicate with others, among other social issues (but, I am getting better at it).

I probably read incorrectly on the Witcher 2 DRM situation. I could of sworn they were going DRM with Witcher 3. Maybe my info on that is outdated. The article is a little dated, but, a lot of it still applies.

I never really took Minecraft in consideration. Sometimes, I forget I have it on my computer (bought it via one of those card things at Best Buy). I guess after thinking about, The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim was also pretty successful on the PC. At the time of its release, it broke some sales record on Steam. Though I will always have a soft spot for their past games (especially excited for the XL Engine, which reimplements several DOS games, including TESII Daggerfall, for modern OS's, and OpenMW, which is an open source recreation of Morrowind's engine).

I personally don't mind most forms of DRM, though I prefer GOG versions of games, if at all possible. If there are multiple versions of a game (retail, Steam, Origin, etc...), then I find the version that is best for me. If I notice a certain form of DRM is negatively impacting my system's health (which I have yet to come across), then I will mind. Also, if it requires a constant internet connection, then I will also mind it (though with Crysis Warhead from GamersGate, I found that removing a couple of files allows the game to run offline). Finally, if DRM is getting in the way of a mod I really want (such as RSE), then I will find a way around it (which, for this mod, fortunately didn't require much effort).

Also, on the topic of this mod, I'm the same person who posted in the archive section that I found a way to get the mod to work on Windows 8.1. I've posted instructions on how to get it to run. If you need me to clarify anything on that, just reply to the post there.

    8. I Still cant get RSE to work with windows 8.1 , please explain what miracle you did.... I Hate this stupid system so much but it came with my computer and i simply cant downgrade to windows 7 at the moment !

As far as the DRM discussion go , i am a self-proclamed pirate , where i live console , games and stuff costs 300% their original price and almost nobody buys or complain about it , so i download most of my games from torrent sites. The only game i've ever bought is Anno 2070 and i've come to regret it greatly.

And for RSE going away from MW2 - The bots are very fun to play with and are near perfect , got them working on my windows 7 notebook and absolutely loved them.Really looking forward to the Black Ops bots , that game is very good , the time-setting , the guns are very much to my taste.

      Best regards to everyone !

    2. Does it work with the Steam version (as in installing the LAN client inside the Steam version's folder, therefore cracking it. Kinda like how this mod can easily be installed with the Steam version)?

    3. I rather I use it with a directly cracked Steam version, if at all possible. Also, would the DLC bought straight from the Steam store work, or would those need ro be cracked, too?

    4. it says on the creator's website that the latest steam version does not work with the client. you can try it though if you want.

    5. I hope that it will work on Windows 8.1 without to much effort. I like the OS for how smooth it runs compared to Windows 7. With Stardock's Start8 & ModernMix, 8gadgetpack (for desktop gadgets), and some of 8.1's built-in desktop settings, I forget how bad the default UI is.

    6. Found in another thread: Well, first, you need to download versions 23, 21, and optionally 20. Then install version 21 as normal. Then take the contents of the source code folder for version 23 and install them inside version 21's source folder (probably best to delete the contents of that folder before installing the files). Then, optionally, take the bat file for version 20 and replace version 21's bat with that. Then, with the iw4m2p.exe, set the compatibility mode to Windows 8 for now. Then launch the bat file. The program may crash several times, but, when a window that says "the program has stopped working", with the option to either debug or close the program, move that window aside and there should be a window that says "do you want to play in safe mode" (or something to that effect). Click on "No" and the game will run.

  18. I tried cracked steam version (Skidrow release with update 6) and it worked, although I did not have any dlc maps.Non Steam works with all dlcs. Well I think it would work with legal steam version, but it would crack it,but I think if you back up original files you should have no problems.

    1. He already responded! "The mod isn't finished and I haven't had time to work on it"

I would reply with: "Just release whatever you have, even only TDM like in the video is good enough, so you didn't waypoint all 24 maps for nothing. Because there are no other COD1 bots, none! You're our only hope Obi-Wan Gamernobi, and don't be a perfectionist, it's good enough. Something is better than nothing, and we are waiting since 2012!"

are you in direct contact with mr rache, what does he say?

You two should really join forces...

And will a new rse.iwd be released if and when he updates bgiw4?
Even just adding the waypoints from bot warfare would be something.
It's rse based, and they also added ingame menus to manage bots!

I will post a new video (with a download link) and a ReadMe about what is and what's not as soon as I am done..."

  31. very nice bots! i have a legit copy of mw2 but i still use this to play gamemodes and maps that nobody plays. it would be nice if the bots had smoother aiming (they look like aimbots on the killcam and they knife without turning around) but this is a very good release!

  32. Is it possible to change the bots turn speed and reaction times?. They turn so fast and insta kill it's crazy.

    ReplyDelete

    1. changing the difficulty will reduce their average skill (aim speed/reaction time). keep in mind that skill is applied randomly at the beginning of the match, so some matches will be harder than other matches.

  36. I can't seem to get this working for windows 8.1.
Using the files from RSE_v23_Package when I run iw4mp i get an error from iw_22.iwd.
I've already installed the dotnet and vcredist requirements and still get the error.

    Any ideas?

    1. you need to download iw_22.iwd and iw_23.iwd,
and copy those file to your own MAIN folder in your install directory.

    3. Unfortunately its now gone from that error to "iw4mp.dat has reached a user based breakpoint" which closes the application, even though in the background it seems to be trying to work smoothly.

Any ideas? lol, it's starting to get the better of me.

    4. I've done some mucking around, seems as though something that's added by either the alteriw client or the RSE files causes an error related to "Exceeded 1200 weapon assets" for the main exec, causing it to still crash when replaced with the alteriw exec as it's only an extension of the main exec

    5. -Delete your old Installation, and install again your MW2
-copy iw_22.iwd and iw_23.iwd to your MAIN folder in your install directory
-then copy the client file in RSE folder
-download iw4mp.dat, then copy that file to your MW2 install folder
      -then start alterIWnetLauncher

    8. Installed the latest steam version, everything in the Redist, updated all my sound and video cards and still no dice.

      Delete
    9. Just to keep people updated, and to help anyone else maybe having the same problems the following got my steam version to work on windows 8.1

Well, first, you need to download versions 23, 21, and optionally 20.
