RSE v24 Development Progress Changelog


Hey! So this is basically the final changelog for RSE v24. I just need a few more days for testing and putting together the package. Trust me, it will be worth the wait.


RSE v24 Changelog (as of May 13th, 2014):

- new client, bgamer classic v1.0:
        - improved performance, less overhead for the cpu
        - console is available at any time, press tilde to open
        - matchmaking has been disabled due to bugs
        - files also added to make singleplayer standalone as well

- added "Patch.iwd" file:
        - includes all of the patches from FourDeltaOne
        - proper ranked private match, statistics count correctly now

- fixed waypoint issues on the following maps:
        - waypoint fix for capture the flag on scrapyard
        - waypoint fix on afghan

- bots will now destroy sentry guns
- bots will no longer target enemies while standing in smoke
- better hit detection when bots are in moving animations
- melee animations for bots
- bot aiming is now smoother
- bots are now more accurate when aiming at a moving target
- bot model turning is now more consistent with their change in direction
- reduced weapon range of the bots
- bots that are campers will camp more often
- new config file method, located in the "main" folder
- more code optimizations
- other small tweaks and improvements

Is this "classic version" the same as the standard BGamer in which no need to open IWNet server, in-game console and plug and play LAN Offline????? and good thing that these bots will not go into Ghostfreak mode anymore!! BTW when is the release date??

    1. lol Ghostfreak mode? you mean the hit detection problem?

      yes the bgamer classic client works better than any other LAN client i've tried for MW2. only problem right now is that i am getting a DirectX crash error when trying to load the favela map. i didn't install the BGamer IW4 patch that he has on his post so i'll do that and see if it helps. if it doesn't i may have to include the old AlterRev client again for next release being as I know that one is stable.

      i should be able to release it by the weekend.

    2. just make sure you it works (IF IT REALLY IS) w/ BGamer classic and let's see if it works.....
      BTW IDGAF on favela but other people may like so i hope it works on all maps...
      one thing........is Nuketown playable??????

    3. yea i only try to release the best stuff that i know of for the community. some people think i have high standards but no one should put up with game crashes no matter how good a mod is. one of my highest goals with modding is to provide the most stable mod possible. i hate crashes with a passion.

      i haven't found any good clients that have nuketown support so no nuketown for now.

  6. A link would be awesome :D. I've been using the bgamer client for a few hours now and I've noticed a few things that I need to point out that you might be able to fix/just general PSA stuff

    1. The LAN hostmode client crashes. A lot. Whenever I try to change graphics settings there is a direct X error. The regular LAN multiplayer client works fine though, and RSE bots work even without hosting.

    2. Private matches are ranked if you use patch_alter_mp.ff (I put it in both the zone/english folder and bgdata) despite there being no xp bar. I have no idea why but it seems bgamer wanted to remove the XP bar.

    3. On some maps there is a MASSIVE performance drop (I have a shitty pc and play mw2 at 720p with no effects, 2x AA and high textures, 70-85 fps unless there is lots of smoke/killstreaks). This is because die_rache or whoever made the client added post processing (?) effects on some maps. It is easy to turn off:

    * Go to your bgdata folder

    * Open the "vision" folder

    * The files here handle the effects for individual maps. Not all maps have visual effects. and yes, it does make a huge difference and looks fucking awesome. If your PC can handle it I'd leave this on

    * Find a file with whichever map you want to change eg: mp_terminal.vision and open it in wordpad/notepad++

    * set r_glow, r_filmEnable, and r_primaryLightUseTweaks to 0. You can also fiddle around with the settings here if you want to change how the map looks

  7. Oh and you can't start the client without internet connection for some reason. It just won't work. Once you have gone into private match/multiplayer you can disconnect the internet and it works fine, but as soon as you go back to the main menu or restart the client it just won't work. The biggest feature RSE has imo is the ability to play offline. Maybe you could talk to die_rache and see if this can be fixed...?

  8. hey so the client i think you are talking about is the regular BGIW4 client. this is heavily modified and (as you know) has tons of issues.

    the client i plan on including with RSE v24 is the BGamer Classic client. this is the completely vanilla client for MW2. i get about 5~ fps more using this than i did with the old atlerRev client that i included in older versions of RSE. my computer is CPU bottlenecked so those extra 5 fps is helping the CPU side of processing. this is probably because the alterRev client was designed for playing online and tons of changes and added .dll files causing extra CPU overhead. anyway the BG Classic is much more simplistic. it has an open console which is great. my only problem (as stated above) is the crash error when trying to load the map "Favela". i'm not getting issues with any other maps (as far as i've tested, 12 or so maps at this point). i think the issue could be with the game version i'm using, which is the latest steam version. Favela happened to have been patched back in 2012 so maybe the BG Classic is based on an old client for the game and having a conflict with that map alone. i am downloading an older version of MW2 so hopefully favela will load with that.

    being offline is a big deal for me and i've tested BG Classic and it works perfectly offline, even better than alterRev because you need a working network card or ethernet device for alterRev to work. the device does not have to be connected though. BG Classic on the other hand works even if you don't have a network card or ethernet device.

    3. the bgamer mw3 isn't working for me. the launcher doesn't actually launch the game, then when i manually start the executable it doesn't connect (saying connecting to online services...)

  15. Can someone make a post on the BGamer thread for BGIW4 Classic and say that the map "Favela" crashes when loading begins...

    I am unable to sign in with any account on that forum so i can't make the post and get the message to him.

    if this issue doesn't get fixed i can't provide the new client with RSE v24.

    1. if the new client can't be provided just provide alterrev or bgamer standard just have that patch.iwd and the config in main folder BTW i know how to make some of my "faux versions" like i have aiw3 ui on my bgamer i just copy paste the files in bgdata it's complicated

  17. mr mac, you could release RSE v24 with 2 clients, the BGamer classic and the alterrev/BGamer standard(either of them)...
    BTW....in case i want to rock with BGamer classic...can U tell somebody to place BGamer classic in mediafire/dropbox because the site that die_rache place it is so pain in the ass............penalty DL time??

  21. Any way to make this RSE mod work on Dedicated servers ? It loads via fs_game bot the bots don't spawn.isHost() I believe has something to Do with it. Where can I contact a Developer Directly ?

  22. Hi! If you're succesfull with v24, could you "upgrade" pezbots in cod4 and waw? I don't know if this is possible but, would they work with code form BO bots? I mean, pezbots in cod4 and waw are pretty dumb, so why don't create RSE release for these two games. Thanks.

    Also if you could add a config option for 2x (or 3x) XP that would be awesome (MW2 leveling is very slow..)

  25. aw ok, i have one question, does the bg classic that you include will NOT have this "bgiw4C.dll" because someone said that this will cause that damn favela crash?? (if yes i can delete if i will want to play favela)

    one thing............let's hope that those 4d1 patches that come with it to do it's magic

  26. bgIW4C.dll causes the crash issue but the file is also needed for the client to work in the first place.
