I Need BO1 Modding Tools

Hey so awhile back a friend sent me the BO1 modding tools so that I could compile mods and add DLC 3 support. Unfortunately the tools didn't work for me and I thought this whole time that it was an issue with my operating system under Windows 7. But recently I tried running the tools in Windows Vista and Windows XP and I get the same error message when trying to compile a mod:

So there is a problem with the tools that were given to me. Most likely I'm missing a folder that it needs or the state in which the tools were given to me were in an incorrect order. If someone would like they can send me the proper tools that don't give me this error message so that I can finally add DLC 3 support...

Otherwise I have made some nice improvements for CT Patch v6 regarding the AI that I will post soon but without having working modding tools I cannot add DLC 3 support...

  2. Joe can you upload the latest ctv6 without the dlc support since some of us here can load those via configs anyway?

Glad you're still working on this while I'm going crazy playing TF2 I used to hate to death LoL!

    1. How do you load them via configs?

    2. it's easy here's an example. just copy paste or edit it the way you like and put on notepad and save it for example as dm.cfg then put it on your players folder. once in combat training lobby simply bring down console and type.....exec dm.cfg ....and hit enter, it will load the map and all the settings you want for it.

here's a sample config rotating to nuketown and hangar18...this are fav bo1 maps eh hehe. I think it helps to always put the "map mapname" last on the config.
      --------------------------------------------
      g_speed 260
      bot_enemies 11
      bot_difficulty easy
      scr_dm_scorelimit "0"
      scr_dm_timelimit "10"
      Set sv_maprotation “map mp_area51 map mp_nuked”
      g_gametype dm
      map mp_nuked

    1. oh ok cool yea i really liked rcbot2 it had a lot of potential but last time i used it, it was crashing so much for me that I just couldn't deal with it anymore. I can get over bugs but I hate crashes with a passion... i did a lot of waypointing for rcbot2 (for some reason i'm one of the only people in the world that enjoys the monotony of waypointing)... i'm a boring guy what can i say :P

  5. Open up steam. Click on libary and press on the button next to search. It will open up a small menu. Click on "Tools".
Than you click on: "Call of Duty Black Ops - Mod Tools (BETA)". It will start the download for you.

  8. i am playing it with gamepad and believe me no need to aim assist...u will be able to aim perfectly after while with very high sensivity....just put bots at recruit deffeculty and start practicing...it would better this way to improve your aiming

Could u also do 1 more thing. do you have other options that we can write down along with the other things that u have written here. i mean other than g_gametype tdm, bot_enemied ,; are there other things like these whose value can be changed to make the game even more interesting

  10. Hey Joe, do you already have working mod tools?

  11. Hello macporterjoe, I have the game on steam, but no dlcs.
I downloaded the modding tools, the game is atm not installed.
The total size it downloaded is 8,9 GB.
The files of the folders "main" and "zone" are 6.01 GB big.I guess not needed?
The rest, that seems to be part of the tool is something around 2,9 GB.
I can load the files up and give you the link.
Please tell me what files you exactly want, the whole 8,9 GB or just 2,9 GB.
And what is your favorite hoster, mine is share-online, so it's in the right place.
    Thanks

    1. hi thanks for offering.

the zone folder and main folder are primarily just the actual game files but i'm not sure if anything is added to those folders when you installed the tools. if you could determine that it would help. don't upload the entire game, it would be a waste of bandwidth. but it is important that you include every file for the modding tools because one missing file could cause an error when compiling.

i'm not sure what would be the easiest way to pack the tools. maybe you can use 7-zip and pack it with the "store" option. this will make the entire tools one file for easy uploading but it will not compress it. i imagine trying to compress such a large amount of files would be time consuming but compressing would probably decrease the size by at least 1 GB. also make sure that you make a split archive so that it is uploaded in smaller chunks (50 or 100 MB chunks). i only ask this because some file hosts are not reliable and drop connections after 10 minutes. so if the speed is slow it can be impossible to download more than 50 or 100 MB.

    2. ok here you go, folders I did NOT included are: main, redist, zone
