BO Combat Training Patch v7 FULL RELEASE

Hey its been awhile. After 2 and a half years, here is BO Combat Training Patch v7. It offers basically nothing for the vast majority of you. But since the fix that facilitated this version was created, I will be able to work on this project again. I will be looking to add DLC support for the next version as this was something many of you have been requesting for a long time.

In the meantime, if you are one of the few dinosaurs left like me still rockin' Windows XP, good news! I was able to rebuild the launcher so that it works in Windows XP.

An interesting fact that most people don't know about games ported to the PC platform during the 7th generation is that some of them run better in Windows XP, and Black Ops is one of them. It turns out an optimization issue related to HAL (Hardware Abstraction Layer) is the cause and results in roughly half the CPU performance when running in Windows Vista or newer. Since Black Ops is primarily a GPU bounded game, this issue does not cause a large impact for most people. But if you are CPU limited, I highly recommend that you run Black Ops in Windows XP as it will offer a substantial boost in performance.

PLEASE NOTE: This version of the BO Combat Training Patch is designed only for the original SK1DR0W release of Black Ops (ISO 7.28 GB). This will not work correctly with other versions of the game. Read the included instructions carefully.

    1. I know this isn't relevant to this release but the 0.5b launcher on their website crashes now. The error is Index is outside the bounds of the array, and this occurs after the recent update windows 10 put out so i may be fine on older versions of windows 10 and older. I figured I would give you a heads up and let the creator know!! and thanks mac for all these great releases!!!!!

    3. Maybe MJP is limited to what he can do about bot leveling support. You need a compatible client, you need the knowledge and you have to spend time. Sadly, there isn´t a whole team working on such support. CoD is just a perfect FPS series, that is fun as hell playing with bots on MP maps and level up. Man, a guy/team who is willing to work on bot support for more CoD games, they surely know what I would offer them for investing their time in that. I don´t really want to wait another ten years for MW3 bot leveling just to get it for free.

    1. hey Gilbert, yes i think so. i would try starting up a combat training match on one computer and then use the other computer to open the console (press tilde " ~ ") and type "connect XXX.XXX.XXX" replacing the 9 X's with the 9 digits of the host computer's IP address. then press enter and you should get thrown into the same combat training match. i'm pretty sure that was what i did when i played LAN.

    2. ugh, why do they have to add weapons and maps? you want to play on Rust? play MW2 for f***'s sake. these modders almost never do it right, so it ends up being a frankenstein of design and runs like ass on low end hardware. nice to have gsc scripting but it doesn't seem all that good to me overall. but thanks for sharing the info.

    3. Well, they want to make it looking attractive so many players join and use their mod. Maybe people want to battle on rust with the MSR or something like that. I´m only interested in playing with bots, I think their client is the only way to do that.

Unbelievable, but logically XP requires far less than average PC of the 2010s in terms of raw system requirements.

However, most 2010 PC and hardware onwards lack drivers for XP... for example sound won't even play without sound driver installed (while in 7, 8, and 10 were built in. Network drivers are built in Windows 8 and 10 as well)

  13. Joe, could you email a link to the download of the Black Ops I 7.28 GB thing? I really don't trust torrents and I would prefer not to get into it.

  16. Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare succeeds in most aspects of a solid sci-fi shooter. However, a lackluster and rushed story takes away from what could have been a full and complete campaign mode. Luckily where the story lacks, the gameplay and solid mechanics Call of Duty deliver.
