Triple Post Coming Soon

Lots of tasty treats are cooking. CoD4 RSE v3, MW2 RSE v35, and BO Combat Training Patch v8 are in the oven and almost done.

Also, I might as well use the rest of this post to give my two cents on WWII and the state of CoD. Honestly I'm not impressed. I don't think it is bad by any means, and might even be the "best" CoD (although it is certainly too early to say). But even if it ends up being the best CoD to date, it wouldn't be by much of a margin. I don't see the point in spending 60 bucks on a game that is 5% better than the game I already have. I might as well keep playing what I have instead. And that is a big problem. There is a complete lack of innovation in this series. With the death of the only studio that truly brought innovation to the series, the old IW (now Respawn Entertainment who are admittedly making great stuff), the state of this franchise has been deteriorating.

And Treyarch's latest effort in terms of design was way too similar to AW to the point where I had trouble identifying which game was which. Scary. And I was a huge fan of Treyarch. I thought I could count on them to make an interesting flavor of CoD. From the unique Cold War era Black Ops to the super slick near future Black Ops II. One thing that really impressed me about Treyarch was their ability to create something that was visually unique and cohesive. Needless to say, Black Ops II was the last CoD I enjoyed.

And now WWII.

It's more of the same. And I am so so sick of it. Tap into your heart and let your imagination run wild. You know damn well it could be so much more. It's not the era, it's what they are doing with it. Or rather, what they are not doing with it. With so much money poured into development, representing one of the financial juggernauts of the industry, the best they can do is retread old ground? Are you ****ing kidding me? Give us destructible environments. Give us controllable vehicles that have a huge impact on the match. Yeah its a risk. Doing something ballsy might upset the formula. But ****, at least do something different.
